Scent Recognition Policy
Last Updated: October 20, 2026
Version: Beta 1.0
Introduction
This Scent Recognition Beta Addendum ("Addendum") explains how the Scent Recognition Feature works during its beta (the "Beta"), what information it uses, the choices you have, and the additional terms that apply when you take part. It is provided by OVR Tech, Inc. ("OVR," "we," "us," or "our").
"Scent Recognition Feature" means OVR's visual-recognition feature for scent in OSS, OVR's desktop app (the "App"). The Scent Recognition Feature watches a game window you select and has your Device release matching scents. It is a feature of the App and is distinct from the App's other functions and from the firmware, Plugins, and Mods described in the Terms of Service. It includes its updates, models, and related files. During the Beta, the Scent Recognition Feature is offered under the working name "smellOVision." OVR may rename the Scent Recognition Feature, or release it under a different name, without updating this Addendum. References to the Scent Recognition Feature apply under any name OVR uses for it.
This Addendum is an Additional Term under Section 2 of the OVR Terms of Service, and it is the feature-specific notice described in Section 15 of the OVR Privacy Policy. It supplements, and does not replace, the following:
- Terms of Service: http://ovrtechnology.com/termsofservice
- Privacy Policy: http://ovrtechnology.com/privacy
- Health and Safety Disclosure: http://ovrtechnology.com/healthandsafety
- Limited Warranty: http://ovrtechnology.com/warranty
Beta participants also sign a separate Beta Participation Agreement. That agreement covers confidentiality and the feedback OVR asks participants to give. This Addendum governs how OVR handles information in connection with the Scent Recognition Feature and the Beta.
Capitalized terms that this Addendum does not define, such as Device, Scentware, Plugins, and Mods, have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. If this Addendum conflicts with any of those documents, this Addendum controls, but only for the Scent Recognition Feature and the Beta. Everything else continues to apply, including the dispute-resolution and arbitration provisions in Section 22 of the Terms of Service.
The Scent Recognition Feature stays off until you turn it on and accept this Addendum in the App. Accepting the Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy does not enable it.
1. What the Scent Recognition Feature Does
The Scent Recognition Feature adds scent to the games you play. It watches one game window that you choose and has your Device release scents that match the world on screen, such as a pine forest, a campfire, or sea air at the coast. All visual recognition happens on your computer.
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
The Scent Recognition Feature reads the scene the way a player would. It looks at the biome, the weather, and what is burning, flowing, or growing nearby, and decides what that place should smell like. It then picks one matching scent, or stays silent if nothing clearly fits. Staying silent is intentional.
1.1 How it works
- Capture. The Scent Recognition Feature copies frames from the window you selected.
-
Recognize. It uses one of two modes, depending on your hardware:
- High mode uses a compact vision-language model (Moondream) to write a short, factual description of the scene.
- Low mode uses a lighter image-classification model (CLIP) to compare each frame with a fixed list of visual concepts written by OVR, such as "pine forest" or "snow-covered ground," and turns the best matches into a short description. It needs less graphics memory than High mode.
- Match. A sentence-embedding model (MiniLM) converts the description into a numeric representation of its meaning and compares it with each scent family. The Scent Recognition Feature picks the closest scent family, or none if nothing is close enough.
- Apply safety limits. Cooldowns and limits (Section 10) are applied before anything is sent.
- Release. The App sends the chosen scent to your Device.
The Scent Recognition Feature does not rely on a library of reference images taken from games or other content. It can only trigger scents that are available in the Scentware installed in your Device.
2. Eligibility and Joining the Beta
2.1 Who may participate
The Beta is open only to participants OVR selects who have signed the Beta participation agreement. To use the Scent Recognition Feature, you must:
- be at least eighteen (18) years old; and
- have accepted the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Health and Safety Disclosure.
The age requirement in this Section is stricter than Section 4.2 of the Terms of Service, and it applies only to the Scent Recognition Feature. Users aged 13 to 17 may continue to use the Device, Scentware, and App as the Terms of Service allow, but they may not use the Scent Recognition Feature.
2.2 System requirements
| Mode | Officially supported configuration |
|---|---|
| High (vision-language model) | Windows 11 or later; NVIDIA 3000-series or newer GPU with at least 8 GB of video memory (VRAM) or compatible AMD Radeon graphics with Vulkan support |
| Low (classification) | Windows 11 or later; with at least 4 GB of VRAM |
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
An internet connection is required to set up the Scent Recognition Feature and to download its files and updates. Games running in a window or a borderless window work best. Exclusive full-screen mode has not been validated.
AMD GPUs, running on the CPU only, and Mac computers are experimental. They may work, but OVR has not qualified them, and they may behave differently from what this Addendum describes. For example, macOS shows its own Screen Recording permission prompt. The Scent Recognition Feature is not available on Android or iOS.
2.3 How to join
- Install or update the App on your computer.
- In the App's Preferences, turn on the Scent Recognition Feature.
- Let the hardware check run. It determines whether your computer can use High mode, Low mode, or both.
- Accept this Addendum, the Privacy Policy, and the license for the Scent Recognition Feature, and confirm that you are 18 or older.
- Wait for the one-time download. The Scent Recognition Feature signs in anonymously with Unity Gaming Services to confirm that you are entitled to its files. It then downloads its models and runtime files from OVR's private storage, verifies their signatures, and saves them on your computer.
You do not need an OVR Account to use the Scent Recognition Feature.
2.4 Shared computers
Your acceptance and settings are saved in your user profile on your computer. Anyone else who uses the same profile will be able to use the Scent Recognition Feature with your settings. If other people use your computer, either give them their own user account or turn the Scent Recognition Feature off before you share it. Anyone who uses the Scent Recognition Feature should read this Addendum first.
3. Your Permissions and Choices
The Scent Recognition Feature is off by default. Each choice below is separate, and the Scent Recognition Feature works with every optional choice turned off.
| Choice | Default | What it controls | How to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Scent Recognition Feature | Off | Turns the feature on and downloads its files | App Preferences. Turning it off ends any session that is running. |
| Each session | Not running | Capture and automatic scents start only after you select a window and press Start | Press Stop |
| Session contribution | Off | Prepares a bundle of gameplay frames and the Scent Recognition Feature's decisions that you can choose to upload to OVR (Section 6.2) | The Scent Recognition Feature's settings. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to upload it. |
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
| Choice | Default | What it controls | How to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debug Frames | Off | Saves example frames and decisions on your computer for troubleshooting (Section 6.1) | The Scent Recognition Feature's settings |
| Bug reports | Nothing sent | Sends your description and, if you choose, a diagnostics file (Section 6.4) | Sent only when you choose to submit one |
| App analytics | See Privacy Policy Section 4.2 | General App usage and diagnostic analytics | The "Share Usage and Diagnostic Data" setting |
3.1 Every session starts with you
Capture and scent output never start automatically, including when the App opens or your computer starts. Each time you open the App, you must select a window and press Start before the Scent Recognition Feature does anything. To switch games, press Stop, select the new window, and press Start again.
3.2 Knowing when it is running
The Scent Recognition Feature's panel shows the feature's status (Disabled, Enabling, Ready, Running, or Error) and the window you selected. There is currently no indicator outside the Scent Recognition Feature's panel, so check the panel if you are not sure whether a session is running.
3.3 Stopping
Pressing Stop immediately ends both capture and automatic scents. A session also ends if you turn the Scent Recognition Feature off, exit the App, or capture fails.
A session does not currently end on its own when your Device disconnects, when you lock your computer, when the App is minimized, or after a period of inactivity. If your Device disconnects, no scents are sent, but capture may continue until you press Stop.
3.4 Operating-system permissions
On Windows, the capture method the Scent Recognition Feature uses does not show its own screen-recording permission prompt. For that reason, the App asks for your consent directly before the Scent Recognition Feature can be enabled. On experimental platforms, such as macOS, the operating system may also ask for its own permission.
3.5 Changes require your acceptance
If OVR makes a material change to how the Scent Recognition Feature handles information, OVR will issue a new version of this Addendum. You will need to accept the new version before the Scent Recognition Feature can be enabled again or download files.
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
4. What the Scent Recognition Feature Sees and Processes
4.1 Only the game window you select
The Scent Recognition Feature captures only the window you select. It never captures your full screen or any other window, and it never records audio, your microphone, or your camera.
So that you can choose a window, the App lists the titles of the windows open on your computer. The Scent Recognition Feature uses the title of the window you select on your computer to target capture. That title is kept in local session data and may appear in local logs, Debug Frames, or diagnostics files.
4.2 Everything visible in that window is analyzed
The Scent Recognition Feature analyzes whatever appears in the window you select. That may include text, images, other people (for example, other players' names or video), and personal information such as in-game chat.
The Scent Recognition Feature cannot yet exclude windows or block types of content. Select only game windows you are comfortable having analyzed, and avoid showing private chats or other personal content while the Scent Recognition Feature is running.
The Scent Recognition Feature does not use a dedicated text-recognition (OCR) system. Its models may still interpret visible text as part of understanding a scene, but that interpretation is not separately stored or sent anywhere. The models may also recognize or infer which game you are playing from what is visible. OVR does not collect a history of what you play through the Scent Recognition Feature.
4.3 People and faces
The Scent Recognition Feature is designed to recognize scenes and objects so it can choose a scent. It is not designed to identify people. It does not perform facial recognition, and it does not create, store, or send facial templates or other biometric identifiers.
4.4 How frames are handled
The Scent Recognition Feature copies frames from the selected window at no more than 15 frames per second, analyzes them in memory, and then discards them. It usually analyzes about 2 to 10 frames per second, depending on how much the scene is changing.
In Low mode, each frame is reduced to 224 × 224 pixels before analysis. In High mode, the full window image goes to the local model, which crops and divides the image internally.
During normal play, frames are never saved or uploaded. The only exceptions are session contributions and Debug Frames (Section 6), which are off by default and which you control.
4.5 Protected content
Some protected video appears black to screen-capture tools. When the selected window appears black, the Scent Recognition Feature does nothing. It does not try to bypass content protection.
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
5. Where Processing Happens
All visual recognition and scent matching happen on your computer. During normal play, the Scent Recognition Feature does not send frames, recognition results, or scent matches to OVR or anyone else. An internet connection is needed to set up the Scent Recognition Feature and to download its files and updates.
Information leaves your computer or reaches OVR only in the following situations:
| When | What is sent | Sent to |
|---|---|---|
| You enable the Scent Recognition Feature, and when its files are downloaded or updated | An anonymous Unity player ID (OVR stores only a salted hash of it), platform, App version, the versions of this Addendum and the license you accepted, and the time you accepted them | Unity Gaming Services, for anonymous sign-in; OVR's Google Cloud project, for entitlement checks, downloads, and access records |
| You choose to upload a session contribution | Gameplay frames from the window you selected, what the Scent Recognition Feature recognized, and which scent it chose or why it stayed silent, linked to a hashed anonymous ID. It does not include your name, email address, account, or hardware IDs. | OVR's secure cloud storage (Google Cloud) |
| You choose to submit a bug report | Your description, a diagnostics file if you attach one, and your email address only if you provide it and agree to be contacted | Unity User Reporting and OVR support |
| You complete the feedback survey | Your answers, such as the games you played, play time, mode, computer specifications, how well scents matched, comfort, performance, errors, and any bug report ID you include | OVR via Google Forms or another provider |
| You post in OVR's Discord | Your questions, feedback, and Discord profile information visible in the channel | Discord and OVR |
| App analytics are turned on | General App analytics as described in Section 4 of the Privacy Policy. Scents triggered by the Scent Recognition Feature are recorded as scent playback events, the same as any other scent. Frames and recognition results are not included. | Unity, as described in Section 7 of the Privacy Policy |
| You sign the Beta participation agreement | The contact details and signature the agreement asks for, such as your name and email address | OVR via PandaDoc or another online signature program |
Bug reports and diagnostics files do not include screenshots, Debug Frames, or video. The Scent Recognition Feature's access requests and session contributions do not include order numbers or Device serial numbers. OVR may link your survey answers and Discord posts to your Beta participation. If you include a bug report ID in your survey, OVR can connect that report to your answers.

6. Debug Frames, Session Contributions, Feedback, and Bug Reports
6.1 Debug Frames stay on your computer
If you turn on Debug Frames, the Scent Recognition Feature saves example frames as image files on your computer, together with related information such as the scent decision. Before Debug Frames is turned on, the App asks you to acknowledge the following:
- Debug Frames are never uploaded automatically.
- Debug Frames are not blurred or redacted, so they may show anything that was visible in the selected window.
- The Scent Recognition Feature does not encrypt Debug Frames. They are protected only by your computer's user account and any device encryption you use.
- Debug Frames stay on your computer until you choose Remove Data or delete them yourself.
6.2 Session contributions
Session contribution is off by default. If you turn it on, the Scent Recognition Feature prepares a session bundle on your computer. The bundle contains gameplay frames from the window you selected, what the Scent Recognition Feature recognized, and which scent it chose or why it stayed silent. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to upload the bundle to OVR's secure cloud storage.
A session bundle does not include your name, email address, account, or hardware IDs. It is linked to a hashed anonymous ID. Its frames show whatever was in the game window, so avoid showing private chats or other personal content while session contribution is on.
OVR uses session contributions to label correct and incorrect recognitions, measure accuracy, and improve the Scent Recognition Feature. This may include tuning or training the models and scent rules that the Scent Recognition Feature uses. OVR personnel review the frames to do this. If OVR wants to use session contributions for a purpose not described here, OVR will update this Addendum and ask for your consent first.
6.3 Feedback survey and Discord
Beta participants are asked to complete a short feedback survey within 7 days of getting access to the Beta, and are invited to share ongoing feedback and questions in OVR's Discord.
The survey asks about the games you played and for how long, the mode you used, your computer's GPU, CPU, and RAM, and whether you uploaded a session contribution. It also asks how well scents matched, about timing and comfort (including whether anyone else in the room was affected), and about performance and errors. OVR uses your answers to evaluate and improve the Scent Recognition Feature. Please do not include health details about yourself or others beyond what is needed to describe a comfort issue.
Discord is a third-party platform. Posts there are subject to Discord's terms and privacy policy and to Section 14 of the Privacy Policy, and other participants in the channel can see them.
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
6.4 Bug reports
A bug report contains your description and, if you choose to attach it, a diagnostics file. A diagnostics file contains standard diagnostic information about the App and the Scent Recognition Feature, such as logs, settings, and error details. It may include the title of the window you selected. Bug reports do not include screenshots, Debug Frames, or video.
6.5 Who can see what you send
Authorized OVR personnel may review session contributions, survey answers, bug reports, and any frame or file you choose to send to support. They do this to run the Beta, respond to your requests, and improve the Scent Recognition Feature. Avoid sending frames or files that show other people's personal information unless it is necessary.
6.6 What OVR does not do
OVR does not use data from the Scent Recognition Feature for advertising, marketing, recommendations, or profiling. OVR does not keep a cloud history of the matches the Scent Recognition Feature makes during your play. OVR does not sell, share, or license data from the Scent Recognition Feature, or any model trained on it, to anyone outside OVR.
7. Service Providers and Data Location
No third-party service receives frames or recognition results during normal play, and no third-party AI service processes your visual data. The Scent Recognition Feature uses the following providers:
| Provider | Role | Information | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud and Firebase (OVR's project) | Entitlement checks, private file delivery, access records, and storage of session contributions | Hashed anonymous ID, access records, session contributions | United States |
| Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies) | Anonymous sign-in used to authorize downloads | Anonymous player ID | As described in Unity's privacy policy |
| Unity User Reporting (Unity Technologies) | Receiving bug reports you submit | Description, optional diagnostics file, optional email address | As described in Unity's privacy policy |
| Google Forms (Google) | Collecting feedback survey answers | Survey answers | United States |
| Discord | Hosting OVR's community channel, as an independent platform under its own terms | Posts and profile information you share there | As described in Discord's privacy policy |
| PandaDoc (or another online signature program) | Collecting signatures on the Beta participation agreement | Name, email address, Discord username, signature | As described in the provider's privacy policy |
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
The Scent Recognition Feature runs open-source models and software on your computer, including Moondream, CLIP, MiniLM, and llama.cpp. The developers of these components do not receive any data from the Scent Recognition Feature. Their license notices are included in the App's third-party notices.
OVR may also disclose information as described in Section 7 of the Privacy Policy, for example to professional advisors or to authorities when the law requires it. If you live outside the United States, information you send to OVR will be transferred to and stored in the United States, as described in Section 9 of the Privacy Policy.
8. Retention and Deletion
OVR has not set fixed retention periods for the Beta. Information on your computer stays under your control. Information you send to OVR is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes below. After that, OVR deletes, de-identifies, or restricts it, as described in Section 10 of the Privacy Policy.
| Information | Where it is kept | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Frames being analyzed | Your computer's memory | Discarded right after processing |
| Downloaded models and runtime files | Your computer | Until you choose Remove Data or delete them |
| Debug Frames and related data | Your computer | Until you choose Remove Data or delete them. They do not expire automatically. |
| Session bundles not yet uploaded, and diagnostics files | Your computer | Until you upload or send them, choose Remove Data, or delete them |
| Consent settings and upload receipts | Your computer | Until you choose Remove Data |
| Access records | OVR's Google Cloud project | As long as needed for entitlement, security, and audit purposes |
| Session contributions | OVR's secure cloud storage | As long as needed to label recognitions and improve the Scent Recognition Feature. This may continue after the Beta ends. |
| Survey answers, bug reports, and Beta participation records | OVR, its survey and e-signature providers, and Unity User Reporting | As long as needed to run the Beta, support participants, and improve the Scent Recognition Feature, and as required by law |
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
8.1 Remove Data
Choose Remove Data in the Scent Recognition Feature's settings to delete the following from your computer: downloaded models, Debug Frames, session bundles that have not been uploaded, diagnostics files, upload receipts, and your consent settings for the Scent Recognition Feature. Remove Data does not delete anything you have already sent to OVR. To ask OVR to delete information you sent, see Section 12.
8.2 Uninstalling the App
Uninstalling the App does not currently delete the Scent Recognition Feature's files. Choose Remove Data before you uninstall.
8.3 When the Beta ends
If the Beta ends or the Scent Recognition Feature is discontinued, files on your computer stay there until you remove them. OVR will handle information already sent to it as described above.
9. Security
The Scent Recognition Feature's downloaded files are signed and verified before they are used. Communication with OVR's cloud services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and Google Cloud encrypts the information it stores. On your computer, the Scent Recognition Feature runs recognition in a separate process that connects to the App over a private channel. It does not make the capture stream available to other apps through a network port.
The Scent Recognition Feature does not encrypt the files it saves on your computer, such as Debug Frames, session bundles, and diagnostics files. Other software running under your user account, or with administrator rights, could access them. Protect your user account, consider turning on device encryption, and choose Remove Data when you no longer need these files.
Section 13 of the Privacy Policy also applies: no security measure can guarantee absolute security.
10. Automatic Scent Triggering and Safety
The Scent Recognition Feature decides on its own when to release scent, so you may get more scents than you are used to, at moments you did not choose. Before you use it, read the Health and Safety Disclosure, especially Section 3 (including "Consider Others Nearby"), Section 5 (Immersive Content and Discomfort), and Section 12 (High-Risk Use Prohibited). This Section adds to the Health and Safety Disclosure. It does not replace it.
10.1 Built-in limits
The Beta enforces the following limits. They may change as the Beta develops.
- Only one scent plays at a time.
- The same scent cannot play again for 5 seconds.
- The same scent can play no more than 3 times in any 30 seconds.
- At least 1 second must pass between different scents.
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
- The same sequence of scenes cannot trigger again within 5 seconds.
- If analyzing a frame takes longer than 6 seconds, the analysis is cancelled and no scent is released.
10.2 Recognition will sometimes be wrong
The Scent Recognition Feature is experimental. It may release a scent that does not fit the scene, release a scent during distressing content (for example, smoke from a burning building), or miss scenes entirely. OVR has not yet established an accuracy rate, and your feedback helps measure and reduce errors. You cannot currently stop specific kinds of content from triggering scents, and there is no option to mute scents while the Scent Recognition Feature keeps watching. If a scent is unwelcome, press Stop.
10.3 Mods and other scent-enabled software
If you run a Mod or other scent-enabled software during a session of the Scent Recognition Feature, both may send scents to your Device, which can increase how often scents are released. Use one at a time if you want to limit how often scents play.
10.4 People and animals nearby
Because you are not choosing each scent, take extra care around other people and animals. Press Stop, and stop using the Device, if you or anyone nearby feels discomfort.
10.5 Not a safety system
Scents from the Scent Recognition Feature reflect what is on your screen, not what is happening around you. A scent such as smoke or something burning could be mistaken for a real hazard, or could hide one. Stay alert to your actual surroundings, and never rely on the Scent Recognition Feature to warn you of anything.
11. Beta Terms
11.1 Pre-release software
The Scent Recognition Feature is pre-release beta software. It may be incomplete, contain errors, or behave unexpectedly, and it may change significantly or be removed. Sections 18 (Disclaimer of Warranties) and 19 (Limitation of Liability) of the Terms of Service apply to the Scent Recognition Feature. Using the Scent Recognition Feature as directed does not affect the Limited Warranty that covers your Device and Scentware.
11.2 License
Your use of the Scent Recognition Feature is licensed under Section 5.1 of the Terms of Service and the license for the Scent Recognition Feature presented in the App. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms, which are listed in the App's third-party notices.
11.3 Games, anti-cheat systems, and other software
On Windows, the Scent Recognition Feature uses the standard Windows Graphics Capture interface. It does not inject code into, hook, or modify the game you select. Even so, some games and anti-cheat systems may detect screen capture and warn, restrict, or ban an account. OVR has not tested the Scent Recognition Feature with every anti-cheat system and cannot guarantee compatibility.
OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
Check the rules of a game or service before you use the Scent Recognition Feature with it. Section 6 of the Terms of Service applies to third-party games and content. To the extent permitted by law, OVR is not responsible for actions that third parties take against your accounts.
11.4 Acceptable use
In addition to Section 14 of the Terms of Service, you agree not to:
- use the Scent Recognition Feature to monitor another person, or to analyze their private communications or information without their permission;
- use the Scent Recognition Feature with content you are not authorized to view;
- attempt to bypass content protection, or the Scent Recognition Feature's scent limits or other safety controls;
- extract, modify, or redistribute the Scent Recognition Feature's downloaded models or files, except as their licenses allow; or
- send other people's personal information in session contributions, survey answers, or bug reports unless it is necessary.
11.5 Feedback
The feedback paragraph in Section 15 of the Terms of Service applies to feedback you give about the Scent Recognition Feature, including survey answers and Discord posts.
11.6 Beta participation agreement
To take part in the Beta, you must also sign OVR's Beta participation agreement. That agreement covers confidentiality and the feedback OVR asks of participants, including a short survey within 7 days of getting access to the Beta. If the agreement and this Addendum conflict about how OVR handles your information, this Addendum controls.
11.7 Ongoing use, changes, and end of the Beta
After the initial feedback period, you may keep using the Scent Recognition Feature during the Beta, and you will receive updates as OVR releases them. OVR may change, suspend, or end the Beta, or your participation in it, at any time. Where reasonably possible, OVR will give notice in the App or in OVR's Discord. You may stop using the Scent Recognition Feature at any time by turning it off and choosing Remove Data.
12. Your Rights, Changes, and Contact
12.1 Your privacy rights
The rights described in Section 11 of the Privacy Policy apply to the Scent Recognition Feature and the Beta. Most data from the Scent Recognition Feature stays on your computer, and you can delete it at any time with Remove Data.
To access or delete information you sent to OVR, such as a session contribution, survey answers, or a bug report, contact privacy@ovrtechnology.com. Session contributions are linked only to a hashed anonymous ID, so please include the contribution or support ID shown on your receipt. Without it, OVR may not be able OVR Tech, Inc. | Scent Recognition Beta Addendum | Page
to find your submission. If a contribution has already been used to train or tune a model, deleting the contribution removes it from OVR's storage but may not change models that were already updated.
12.2 Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time by turning off session contribution or turning the Scent Recognition Feature off. Withdrawing does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew. To have information you already submitted deleted, contact OVR as described in Section 12.1.
12.3 Participants in the EEA and UK
If the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, OVR relies on the following legal bases:
- Consent for the Scent Recognition Feature and session contributions. You can withdraw it at any time, as described in Section 12.2.
- Performance of the Beta participation agreement for running the Beta, the feedback survey, and Beta communications.
- Legitimate interests for access records, security, and bug reports.
Information you send to OVR is stored in the United States, as described in Section 9 of the Privacy Policy. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12.4 Age
The Scent Recognition Feature is not available to anyone under 18. If OVR learns that someone under 18 has sent OVR information through the Scent Recognition Feature or the Beta, OVR will delete it.
12.5 Changes to this Addendum
OVR may update this Addendum as the Scent Recognition Feature changes. OVR will update the "Last Updated" date and version. When a change is material, the App will ask you to accept the new version before you can continue using the Scent Recognition Feature.
