Description

Omara Pro is the world's first Personal Scent Display, built to bring real smell into your favorite games, timed to the second and gone just as fast. It's about the size of an AirPods Pro case. Set it on your desk or clip it onto your VR headset and it becomes a seamless part of the setup you're already running. 

Pine hits when you step into the forest. Salt air rolls in when you cross the sea. Victory smells sweet, then clears out in half a second flat so the next scene gets its own scent instead of the last one's leftovers.

This isn't a candle taped to your monitor. Omara Pro runs on our Architecture of Scent framework, firing fragrance by location, action, timeline, or event. Developers build it directly into the game with our Unity and Unreal plugins, the same way they'd build in sound design. Pop in a Scent Cassette and you get 16 IFRA-certified base fragrances.

We built plugins for two of the major game development engines, Unreal and Unity. With those implemented in the game, triggers in the backend communicate with our device to fire the appropriate scent, and the appropriate time, in the appropriate intensity.

Using the plugins we build for Unity and Unreal, game developers can integrate scent much like they integrate audio. Our patented software enables scent to be triggered on an action, event, timeline, or spatial basis within game play.

Game developers that partner with us on implementation learn with our team about the science of olfaction, and we support them in the development of a good scent experience tying scent to game play mechanics and cues to create effective scent tracks and scent effects. We then support them with QA of the games through the development process.

Sometimes. Many of the games we work with do not require scent to play them, though they are better with it. Much like a game isn't as good without sound, a game just isn't the same without scent.

We do have games that are build entirely around scent as a gameplay mechanic - those games aren't possible to play without an Omara.

The Omara supports Bluetooth and USB connections depending on the game. BLE is the standard way to connect.

Not usually. Most games are directly integrated meaning you open the game and it will often search for, find, and connect to your device without you doing anything. Others, like our mod for Minecraft require the companion app to function as a bridge in the background translating from the mod to the device.

No. That was the goal of the R&D behind the device. We knew a good scent experience centered around scent to content synchronization. In order to do that we had to ensure we could clear the air quickly. If we filled the room with scent, we would have to clear the room of scent. The Omara delivers the scent directly to your nose, and only your nose, and as you exhale you clear the air.

Absolutely. We have built into the plugins the ability for the developers to set the intensity of the scent burst, and our spatial scent capabilities modulates the intensity based on your distance to the object in gameplay. You can control the scent as well from our companion app, setting specific channel intensity limits, whole device intensity limits, or playing around in our scent lab to make your own experiences.

Yes. The Omara is designed to mix up to three channels at a time.
We are still testing which combinations are best.

We have designed the companion app to have device settings. When you pair with your device from the app, you'll be able to turn off individual scents, turn down the intensity of individual scents or the entire cassette, control the LEDs on the front of the device, and other settings.
